About the Course:

In collaboration with Jenni Gallagher, APRN, The Elite Nurse Practitioner is proud to announce the release of The Advanced Women’s Health and HRT course, the Elite NP guide one advanced women’s healthcare and hormone replacement therapy. This course has been in development over the last year, and I am finally happy to say it is now out after countless requests from the Elite NP membership.

This course is the “next step” in our women’s health course line, where the original and newly updated women’s health course provides the foundational concepts of women’s health and hormone replacement therapy. This advanced course goes over a plethora of new disease processes predominately seen in the female patient population IN ADDITION to advanced hormone replacement therapy concepts from more of a functional/integrative approach. The original women’s health course covers hormone replacement therapy from more of a standardized approach (it does include integrative approaches though) whereas this course is rooted in more integrative medicine instead.

Women’s health and hormone replacement therapy targeting females is a growing field. More and more women are aging and with that comes declines in a variety of hormones and a plethora of health conditions. Therefore, it is critical for the astute nurse practitioner to know how to provide more advanced care to your female patients outside of what the original course provides!

This course is for the nurse practitioner who already has a basic understanding of women’s health and hormone replacement. This course assumes you know foundational information; therefore, I would advise against taking this course if you are brand new to women’s health or hormone replacement therapy (no worries though, this course can be bundles with the original women’s health course for a significant discount so you can develop a solid understanding of all the concepts you need to know to get started!)

• The physiology of hormones in the body.
• Why DHEA and pregnenolone are critically important in the hormone cascade and for optimal health.
• Advanced testosterone replacement therapy in women.
• Advanced lab interpretation for all the concepts discussed in the course.
• Advanced estrogen and progesterone therapy in women.
• How to evaluate and treat endometriosis.
• How to evaluate and treat PMS/PMDD.
• How to evaluate and treat fibromyalgia.
• Foundational concepts of Iron and ferritin and how it affects the health of women.
• A variety of concepts surrounding thyroid disease.
• Utilizing low dose naltrexone.
• Understanding inflammation and how to affects disease in women.
• How to evaluate and treat interstitial cystitis.
• How to evaluate and treat chronic fatigue.
• The practice and business considerations with advanced women’s health.

PLUS, this course will award 8 official CE hours where 3 of those will be considered pharmacology hours.

This course is approximately 6 hours in length and will take a deep dive into advanced women’s health topics in addition to hormone replacement. Once you finish this course, you should walk away feeling empowered and confident to tackle more advanced women’s health care PLUS expand your hormone replacement therapy knowledge and skill set.

How is this course different than the original women's health course?

This course is a totally new course that provides ADVANCED information for women's health topics. It will also cover advanced hormone replacement therapy from more of a functional standpoint.

Do I have to have a specialized certification to do this?

No! If your license allows you to evaluate and treat patients in your state, you can utilize the information in this course. There is no special certification or license needed to utilize these treatment options in your practice. Anyone who has a license to practice can do it!

I have not taken the original women's health course but have knoweldge on women's health, can I take this?

Yes you can! This course assumes you have a basic and foundational understanding of women's health and hormone replacement therapy.

Is having a DEA number necessary?

Yes, if you are prescribing testosterone to your female patients.

Will this offer CME?

YES! This course offers 8 CE hours. The Elite Nurse Practitioner is credentialed as an organization that can provide CEU through the ANCC. CEU awarded through The Elite Nurse Practitioner applies to ANCC, AANP, and all boards of nursing!

Will this course provide a certificate of completion?

Yes! A certificate is issued at the end of the course that will show the CEU hours and your completion of this course. You can also use this to submit for reimbursement and provide your malpractice carrier.
